Will have showers and t-storms moving through the area into Thursday morning, no severe weather is expected. But some heavy rain maybe.

Thursday in the afternoon and evening hours could be very interesting as a major severe weather event starts to take hold across the area. The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK has put areas from Paxton along I-80 to Lexington and south in a moderate risk of severe weather, which means these areas, may see large hail and possible violent long track tornados. For the rest the area there is a slight risk of severe weather. Large hail and an isolated tornado are possible.

Thursday AM might be a good time to go over your tornado safety plans with you and your family(Especially if you live in the moderate risk area mention above). Parents if you have kids and they sit at home for a couple hours before you get home, let them know where to go and what to do if a Tornado Warning is issued for your area.

Jacque Harms will have an update at Midday and I will be in shortly after. Please check in with KNOP-TV News 2 through out the day as we will be running the latest watches and warnings at the bottom left hand side of the screen. Also we always have News 2 Trueview Radar always on knopnews2.com.

Take care and stay safe
Thomas
