Dry conditions expected to last through the Labor Day weekend. It will be hot and windy with highs in the 90s Sat, Sun and Mon.
Have a nice and safe weekend.

I think for the most part 70% will stay dry Monday night, all though I can’t rule out a strong storm rolling through the area. I think our better chances of storms and some severe storms come on Tuesday as a strong cold front for this time of year pushes into Nebraska. T-Storms will move into the area after about 5pm, some storms maybe severe with large hail, damaging winds and possibly an isolated tornado. Lows Monday night will be in the 60s and highs Tuesday will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s. The other story will be the wind Tuesday, winds my gust as high as 35mph at times.
Behind the front is a cooler and less humid day for Wednesday. Highs will only be in the upper 70s. Thursday through Labor Day look great! With sunny skies, highs will be the 80s and lows will be 50s.
Take care,
Thomas

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Custer, Dawson, Frontier, Hayes, Gosper and Lincoln Counties through Friday AM. Showers and T-storms are expected to move back into the area Thursday afternoon. I totally can’t rule out an isolated severe storm. But I think the main threat from any storm will be the heavy rain fall that may lead to flash flooding.
The other noticeable thing Thursday will be the temperatures with mainly cloudy skies; they will only be in the 70s.

Another round of storms are firing up across Central Nebraska. Thankfully though not as wide spread as last night, but a few storms will still remain capable of producing large hail and damaging winds.
Rainy times are ahead, as a cut off low moves into the central plains. A cut off low is a low pressure system that is cut off from the jet stream. Basically that means a chance of rain and sometimes heavy is possible through next week.
Temperatures will be cooler starting Thursday with highs only in the 70s and lows in the 50s.

Clouds are hanging tough Friday afternoon with temperatures on in the 70s in most locations. There is a few 80s near the South Dakota broader. Another chance of rain rolls back into the forecast later Friday night. Severe weather looks low at this point but heavy rain fall is a possibility. Which is not good news for the North Platte River as it is starting to fall. A Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice for the North Platte River.

Most everyone will see a quiet Wednesday evening across Greater Nebraska. I did though to be on the safe side put a 20% chance of T-Storms for the evening time frame.
A better chance of T-Storms overnight, especially north of HWY 2, there is a slight chance that some storms maybe severe with heavy rain being the main threat.
Speaking of heavy rain, that’s what we don’t need in North Platte near the North Platte River. A Flood Warning remains in effect as Cody Park is under water by the boat dock. The river is expected to crest at 6.3” feet on Thursday. That’s if we don’t see anymore rain. Unfortunately, we do have a chance of rain in the forecast for Wednesday. Some storms maybe severe with large hail and damaging winds, but I think the main threat will be heavy rain.
