No afternoon update folk’s sorry, got a little side track.
Busy, is the one word to describe my day in the weather center. Between the fires and having a couple storms moving towards Nebraska that look to bring rain and snow. I am mainly going to focus on the Friday Storm.
Overnight Thursday, rain and snow will move into the area, and continue into early Friday AM. Areas south of HWY 92 will see temperatures rise above freezing after 8am/9am Friday, that would mean and all rain event for a couple hour. Friday around lunch time look for a rain and snow mix to move into the Platte River Valley and areas north of HWY 92 to change over to all snow. The entire area changes over to snow after 4pm or 5pm (CDT) and stays snow through early Saturday morning.
Snowfall accumulations looks like this, and this is by Midnight Saturday.
Platte River Valley (Including the cites of Ogallala, North Platte and Lexington)
Stapleton, Thedford, Tryon and Arthur- 1-3 INCHES
Cherry, Hooker, and Grant Counties- 2-4 INCHES With the longer period of snow.
Sunday and Monday brings another interesting weather maker into the area, please stay tuned on that storm.
Take care, and see you tonight for news 2 at 10pm
