It was a much calmer day after last night stormy weather, though clouds ruled and did not allow temperatures to rise much past the middle 70's, though Valentine squeaked into the low 80’s with more in the way of sun.
Expect the clouds to clear tonight, and this will allow the temperature to drop into the 50’s in most areas. Watch for areas of fog to form after about 3AM, which could be dense in spots, and any fog that forms will last until about 9AM tomorrow morning before it burns off.
Then for tomorrow, we can expect sunny skies, and it will become breezy during the afternoon, and it will also become very warm to hot with highs reaching into the 90’s most areas, so a much warmer day than today.
The heat will then last into early next week, but by varying degrees as a couple of fronts either get close to or come through Greater Nebraska. The first of these will come by during Thursday when there can be a thunderstorm, and highs will get close to 90. By the weekend, the heat should be in full swing with sunshine boosting highs into the middle and perhaps even upper 90’s in a few cases.
The next front will affect the area Monday into Tuesday, and there is a chance of thunderstorms with temperatures cooling into the 80’s to lower 90’s.
