Snow wind and rain Friday, up to 4-8” of snow in the northwest part of the KNOP-TV viewing area including Western Cherry, Grant, and Hooker Counties where a Winter Storm Warning is in effect. 2-4 inches of snow for McPherson, Arthur, Garden and Deuel counties where a snow and blowing snow advisory is in effect. 1-2” of snow for the Stapleton, Thedford and Valentine areas, and for the North Platte and Ogallala areas with a rain and snow mix expect only and inch or less of snow.

The big story will be the winds Friday; at times winds may gust up to 60mph per hour, especially in open areas. That may create near blizzard conditions in Grant, Hooker and Western Cherry Counties along with the western panhandle. This may impact travel. A Wind Advisory is in effect for most of the viewing area through Friday night. A High Wind Warning is in effect for Sedgwick County in Colorado. Use caution on I-76 if your headed to Denver as winds will be strong.
