Rain and maybe an isolated rumble of thunder for Thursday evening, expect the rain to mix and change over to snow overnight Thursday, especially north of HWY 2, then that rain/snow line will slip on down to the south. By Thursday AM we may have a rain and snow mix as far south as North Platte.

Friday is not going to feel like May at all. It will feel like an early march day more than anything. Will have rain and snow going most of the day, there may be a lull in the pre-cip for the southeast part of the KNOP viewing area during the morning hours, but expect the rain or snow move back in for the rest of the day.

The other big story with this storm system will be the wind. At times winds may gust to near 50mph. Creating near blizzard conditions in the snow.

Snowfall amounts by late Friday look to be around 1-3” of snow and slush around North Platte and Ogallala. For the Stapleton and Tryon areas about 3-5” is possible. And For Thomas, Hooker, Grant , Blaine and Cherry Counties 5-10” is possible

Lows Thursday night will be in the low 30s, highs will be steady in the 30s on Friday.
