Heat Continues But Changes Are On The Way

After last night’s heavy thunderstorms, today was a much calmer day, and while it was hot, lower humidity levels brought in by southwest winds made the heat a bit more tolerable. Highs reached the 90’s in most areas, but heat indices were not as high as they have been recently.

The lower levels of humidity will continue through tomorrow before they begin to climb again tomorrow night and Thursday.

Tonight will be clear, starry and relatively pleasant with lows in the lower 60’s with light southwest winds. Tomorrow will be sunny, and make no mistake, it will be hot regardless of the lower humidity with highs in the middle to upper 90’s. So be cautious and avoid overexertion if you will be outside for any extended periods.
Thursday will be another very hot day with highs in the middle to upper 90’s, and higher humidity levels will make it quite uncomfortable. But a cool front will approach the region and probably set off a few thunderstorms later in the day and at night, some of which could be severe.

Depending on how fast the front moves, Friday could still be quite warm and humid with highs near 90, with perhaps a few thunderstorms. However, if the front moves a bit faster and is through the region by Friday morning, temperatures will stay in the 80’s and the humidity will lower.

Right now the weekend looks absolutely gorgeous with sunshine, low humidity, and a pleasant breeze. Highs should reach the lower 80’s with lows in the upper 50’s to lower 60’s.
