A busy day shaping up in the news 2 forecast center. Currently as of 2pm (CDT) here’s how the NWS watches and warnings are shaping up. First and foremost a flash flood warning is in effect for East Custer County until 4:15pm Tuesday. News 2 Trueview Radar has estimated 6 inches of rain east of the Westerville area, with an additional 1-2 inches possible across the warned area. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Custer, Dawson, Frontier, Hayes, Gosper and Lincoln counties through Friday.
A cold front is currently located in northwest Nebraska and central South Dakota. That will be slowly sliding south into the state. Out ahead of the front, showers and t-storms will continue with some being capable of large hail and damaging winds, a brief tornado spin up is not out of the question either. Showers and t-storms will continue into Friday.
Very humid conditions will continue Thursday afternoon, temperatures in the 80s with dewpoints in the 70s.
