Scattered rain and snow showers Friday evening, little or no snow fall accumulations are expected. Lows will be in the lower 20s. Highs on Saturday will be in the lower 40s with partly sunny skies.
That’s the easy part of the forecast. Here comes the fun part.
Saturday overnight, snow and some mixed precipitation moves into Greater Nebraska, this will be well after the midnight hour. The snow and mixed rain and snow continues into Sunday AM. Then on Sunday afternoon, areas across southern Nebraska will change over to all rain. As of right now I think that’s going to include the city of North Platte and everyone else along I-80, temperatures rise into the upper 30s.
Sunday night on into Monday, colder air moves into the area, this changes the rain or rain/snow mix turns backs to all snow. A heavy snow band may set up across portions of our area. Right now I am thinking Ogallala to Ainsworth. But that can all change like we found out on Friday. So please stay tuned and keep advised of the weather through out the weekend. As this has a potential to become a heavy snow producer in some parts of the KNOP viewing area.
Rain and snow continues into Monday.
