First off I have a correction to make, Monday night at 10pm, I said that we set a record snowfall of 7.1 inches at Lee Bird Field. Yes we did set a record snowfall for March 17th, but it wasn’t 7.1” of snow. The record daily snowfall was 5.4 inches of snow for the day, beating the old record of 3.4 set back on March 17th 1995. I am very sorry for the incorrect data.
The snowfall total for the snowfall event on 3/16 and 3/17 was 7.6 inches of snow at the Lee Bird Field. 8.5 inches reported inside the city of North Platte.
At the airport 2.2” fell on Sunday night before Midnight, 5.4” fell on the daytime on Monday.
Tuesday afternoon, we are going to start putting a dent in the snowfall. Sunny skies with high temps in the 40s, winds will be out of the west or northwest 5-15mph.
