Temps will dip to around 5 to 12 below then start rising as we head towards the morning as clouds will be on the increase and the snow will arrive by Tuesday AM. Snowfall amounts look like about 1” in North Platte, less west and closer to 2” in Broken Bow/Lexington. If you’re headed towards Lincoln or Omaha, be prepared for slow travel and about 3-6 inches. Skies will clear out Tuesday night and temperatures will once again go below zero.
Wednesday we catch a break, then its back to the snow Thursday and early Friday. I had a few issues with the Wednesday Night to Friday AM timeframe of my forecast with timing issues on this storm system. One model (GEM) held it off until later Thursday and early Friday, while another model (GFS) was gun hoe to start bringing this in Wed Night and out of here Thursday Night. That said I’m going to go a slight chance of snow starting Wed Night and tapering off Friday AM. Snow fall amounts are tough to judge at this point. But snow accumulation is possible for the day time on Thursday. Please check back in with updates on the forecast.
Another arctic blast is looking to blow in here on the weekend. Highs will be in the single digits come Sunday.
