Freeze Thaw Cycle

As we work our way through February and March, we enter the season I call the “Freeze-Thaw Cycle.” Meaning we will have a couple days in the 50s and will have a couple days in the deep freeze, like we experienced this past Sunday. The “Freeze-Thaw Cycle” posed a problem in my home state of Michigan with the area lakes. We would have a few warm days and a few cold days, which would melt the ice to dangerous levels. Sometimes tragically people would fall through the ice and die.

This week is a prefect example of the “Freeze-Thaw Cycle.” Tuesday and Wednesday will be mild with temps in the 40s and low 50s. But Thursday, winter comes roaring back with a nice chance of snow, and temps tumbling back into the 20s. Thursday’s snow may accumulate, so please keep posted on the latest forecasts for the later part of this week.
