Light snow and light rain is moving through the area, expect any rain to turn to all snow after about 9 or 10pm Thursday night. Accumulations will be one inch or less.

Some light snow showers are in Western Cherry County, and will continue to spread through areas north of HWY 2 Thursday afternoon. Accumulations will remain under an inch. For the rest of the area, expect partly sunny skies with highs in the 40s.

Look for skies to become partly cloudy overnight Tuesday, lows will be around 10 in North Platte, to 19 in elsewhere. Partly Sunny skies Thursday with highs in the low 40s, a slight chance of snow Thursday night, look for little or no snow accumulation.

Partly cloudy skies tonight with low temps in the teens, highs tomorrow with partly sunny skies will be in the 40s, we may see some increasing clouds to the north out ahead of our next storm system that will bring us a chance of snow Thursday night.

Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Western Cherry County until 5am Wednesday (mst) , Eastern Cherry County until 9am (cst) Wednesday. Snowfall of 2 to 4 inches is possible, with the heaviest snow falling near the South Dakota broader. High winds up to 30mph will also accompany the snow, which may reduce visibilities at times.

For the rest of Greater Nebraska, look for snow to develop after about 8pm Tuesday night, accumulations should remain under an inch. But the winds will still be strong, out of the north or northwest at 20-30mph.

Mostly cloudy skies are taking over our weather Tuesday afternoon across greater Nebraska. News 2 Trueview radar is pick up some rain showers, but 99% of the rain is not even reaching the ground.

An area of mixed precipitation that is located in southwest South Dakota is starting to move to the south and east. This is associated with a cold front that will bring colder air into the region on Wednesday, along with windy conditions.

We also have snow on the way, in fact, 2 to 4 inches is possible north of HWY 2. Here in North Platte, we are looking for less than 1 inch. But with the windy conditions and the snow, this could lead to reduce visibilities starting Tuesday night. This also may lead to an advisory for the National Weather Service.

We have had some problems with the computer that I write these blogs on. So I am sorry for those of you that log on and read my blogs.

Welcome to March, we saw it all this weekend, record high temperatures on Saturday and snow and cold on Sunday. Monday wasn’t too bad with sunshine and highs more seasonal in the 40s.

The winds come back on Tuesday along with the mild temperatures, will have a strong west wind of 25 to 35 mph, at times winds may gust up to 40mph, especially in open areas, a wind advisory may be posted tomorrow afternoon. Highs will range from 51 in Broken Bow to 58 in Imperial.

Tuesday night the strong winds turn to the north, still at the same speed, but pouring in some much colder air and some snow. Some accumulations are possible, especially in Northern Nebraska. I will have a better handle on this Tuesday night at 6. And I will post another blog Tuesday during the mid afternoon hours, also if there is an advisory of some sort issued.
