Weekend Weather (Friday's Outlook)

Today was day one of our current round of nice weather, and Saturday will be a near carbon copy of today weather–wise. Highs reached into the forties in spite of the snow still on the ground in some areas.

Saturday will be mainly sunny, and highs may top out perhaps a couple degrees lower than today as some clouds will begin to move in during the afternoon. Unfortunately, Sunday is looking more winter–like as colder temperatures and some snow appears to be in the offing. The snow will continue Sunday night into Monday, and some accumulation is possible so please stay tuned to News 2 over the weekend for the latest updates.

Friday Weather

Temperatures finally made it above freezing in North Platte Thursday for the first time in a week, and even milder temperatures will be with us for the next couple of days. Tonight will feature plenty of clouds, and an isolated snow shower or two cannot be ruled out, but lows will only drop into the 20's so not as cold as it has been. But by Friday, plenty of sunshine will develop in the wake of a warm-front that will have pressed eastward during the night, and a milder Pacific flow will allow afternoon temperatures to get into the 40's region wide, which will make for a very nice day. The nice weather will continue into Saturday, but the front will be pressing westward and will cross the area later Saturday as a cold front, and chillier temperatures, along with a chance of some light snow, will be the rule for the end of the weekend on Sunday.

Thursday's Weather

Old man winter will maintain his grip across Greater Nebraska for one more day on Thursday as clouds, scattered snow showers and flurries, and high temperatures in the 30's will make for another wintry day. However, the clouds and snow showers will herald the arrival of milder air approaching from the west, and by Friday, sunshine and highs in the 40's may have you thinking about Spring. Saturday will be a similar day, but by Sunday a southern storm threatens to bring some light snow, and temperatures will settle back into the 30's once again. Milder temperatures will return to start the new workweek.
